DAVID ROSFELD

David Rosfeld is a Canadian/American writer and director based in Brooklyn, New York.  His work spans traditional narrative, documentary, experimental and hybrid forms, often embracing queer themes. His experimental screenplay September was a selection of the Berlinale Talent Project Market. His 2019 short film Bob & Dale, executive produced by Robert Hawk (Trick) and Howard Rosenman (Call Me By Your Name), enjoyed an international festival run and was acquired by Focus Features for distribution. His work has received awards from the National Board of Review, the Screen Actors Guild, Gotham Awards and he has been a fellow of the Tribeca Film Institute and resident at the Experimental Television Center. He is the recipient of production grants from the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment and the Panavision New Filmmaker Program. He is currently developing three feature length films, Manitou Springs, Tampa and Pop. David holds an MFA in Directing from the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema and teaches filmmaking and screenwriting at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. In addition to his creative and academic work, he maintains an active professional practice as a story and editorial consultant for independent and studio filmmakers.
